A Design relates to the appearance of an article/product and is directed to the features of shape, configuration, pattern or ornamentation as applied to the article. In order to be suitable for registration, the Design must be new and distinctive.

Why seek Design protection?

A Registered Design gives you the exclusive rights to commercially use, license or sell products bearing the Design. You can prevent others taking advantage of and profiting from your Design. A Design Registration is a property right and can convert an intangible asset into a tangible one. A Design Registration can be valuable and therefore add to the value of your business to attract investors.
